Ten Scientific Institutes at Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University / CPAS Planning and Architectural Studies Center - Prof. Dr. Abdel Baqi Ibrahim & Partners
In light of Al Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University plan, affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education, to improve the educational process at the institute level,
it established ten institutes in Riyadh, each covering (5) feddans.
The design process took into account the close connection with Riyadh’s heritage architecture, assimilating its elements and adapting them in a contemporary manner in the architectural mass of the project. Taking into consideration preserving the environment and achieving the principles of sustainability by providing the highest levels of thermal insulation without affecting the ventilation and natural lighting of the classrooms.
Each institute includes from 500 to 1500 students’ classrooms and auditoriums for lectures to serve students and their activities, in addition to a large multi-purpose hall for holding conferences, seminars, and exhibitions.
The project focused on providing interior and exterior landscape features overlooked by the project elements, while rationalizing the consumption of water and electrical energy.
